Selecting a Pilot Site

We chose to start with the Del Norte Community Health Center for several reasons.

1. It was Del Norte's rate setting year, so it was the logical candidate to help acquire an appropriate rate for the grand EHR expenditures our organization would be facing.

2. The staff and providers at Del Norte are also tech-savvy, so the learning curve would not be as intense or overwhelming.

3. Del Norte's clinic site was specifically designed with EHR and team care in mind. The clinic layout allows providers, their MA's, and a nurse to work closely to a shared group of exam rooms (and patients). All the exam rooms were already wired for computers, and the rooms were larger to accomodate such equipment.
