Embarking on EHR Journey

In terms of getting to the starting point, the following three things or activities come to mind.

A believer: Believer is the one (or group) who have come to realize that EHR is the way of the future. This person or group provided that constant voice and reminder about EHR and pushed the organization to move toward that direction.

Marketing: Or education. This is an activity as simple as passing around an interesting article on EHR to pushing for the medical director to attend EHR conference to organizing visits to other clinics who have implemented EHR. These activities build upon the singular believer to form the organizational core, thus enabling the change that’s necessary.

A nudge: Lastly, a tipping point event that triggers the journey to begin. For NGHN, it was the CNEA’s planning grant RFP that rallied the talks into actions.
